Alistair Burt MP for NE Bedfordshire, had been corresponding with the Secretary of State for Transport’s office from the initial announcement of the consultation in July, about the detail of the options, but also the lack of a consultation public meeting being held in Bedford.

Alistair said; “I very much felt, as did others, that Bedford and Bedfordshire in particular were being left out in a most significant way from the consultation, and I am pleased to receive a response today giving a date for a Bedford meeting on September 25th. Venue details are yet to be announced.

I know my constituents and those of neighbouring areas will take every opportunity to make their views known, both at this meeting and through the online system. I will continue to ensure your voices are heard.”
