As many of you will be aware, I have had two meetings with Govia, with a number of other MPs, to discuss the Thameslink and Great Northern Lines.

During these meetings, I expressed the deep anger and frustrations at a series of failures from late running, shortened trains, inadequate communication and the impact of over-running engineering works, felt by a number of commuters and rail users across North East Bedfordshire.

We found some excuses of Govia, that they were unaware of key performance parameters when they took over the franchise- availability of train drivers for example- to be poor, and we left the company in no doubt that improvements are expected.

While explaining their deficiencies the company readily accepted that their performance had been extremely poor and apologised. While this helps a bit, it is not the answer.

The solution lies in delivering the package of improvements that can be found at the link attached.

I thought it right that constituents saw what had been offered so that the company is accountable, as is your MP for pressing your case on your behalf.
